Have any of our Anderson, SC readers been on any good hiking trips recently? We know many of you consider yourself outdoorsy, and that's why we, at Piedmont Honda, offer the cars we do. A new Honda can keep up with your passions, whether they take you down a paved road or the exact opposite.
In fact, Honda has signed up ten of its vehicles for quite the trek-- Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC). The race may be a mere 12.42 miles long, but features 156 turns and a steep descent to 14,110 feet. They don't call it the "Race to the Clouds" for nothing! The climb is so tumultuous, that cars often lose 30% of their engine power before they even reach the tippy top!
Clearly a believer in "the more, the merrier," Honda's ten-piece army breaks the record of the most number of entries by a single manufacturer and features a roster of several cars, motorcycles, and ATVs. Among the Honda squad is the all-electric Fit EV, a CR-V model, and the NSX Project. The latter is Honda's steadily evolving race car, which finished fourth in its class at last year's PPIHC.
But it's a new year! Honda has their eye on the prize and we have complete confidence that their tribe can trek to triumph! The PPIHC takes place in Colorado Springs, Colorado during the last week of June. Be sure to bookmark or subscribe to our blog to get updates on Honda's big hike and other news like upcoming lineups, new arrivals to our showroom, and the hottest car technologies.
