Whether you are an avid NASCAR fan or even frequent Anderson Motor Speedway in nearby Williamston, the latest news surrounding our brand is right up your alley. Images of some souped up Civic racers just hit our eyes here at Piedmont Honda, so of course we have to share with all the gearheads out there in Anderson, South Carolina.
The first model to grace our presence was the Euro-Spec Civic hatch that is bound for the tracks of the World Touring Car Championships (WTCC). Complete with larger wheels and flared wheel arches, a large rear spoiler and a comprehensive body kit for better aerodynamics, this Civic looks ready to tackle the new WTCC season.
JAS Motorsports will get their hands on two factory backed models to compete this season, and of course the usual slew of privately owned Civic racers will make an appearance.
The base for all these models will be the Honda Civic Type R hatch, which untouched by tuners offers an already big 280 horsepower from the turbocharged 2.0-liter I-4 engine.
Moving to the 2014 British Touring Car Championships, drivers Gordon Shedden and Matt Neal will be piloting a Civic Touring Wagon racer in the upcoming season. For four straight years Honda has taken the manufacturers' and teams' titles, with the last three being behind the wheel of a Civic.
We look forward to seeing how the Civic models will fare around the world, and will make sure to keep you in the loop as they compete here on our blog.
While we may not offer race ready vehicles directly from our showroom, our inventory of new Honda models are the perfect starting point for a custom project.
