All New Honda Vezel Premieres at the Tokyo Motor Show

There have been rumblings in the Honda-verse for quite some time about the automaker releasing a global compact crossover, or what some are now referring to as an "urban SUV". Admittedly, any new Honda model is going to raise our pulse here in Anderson, SC. However, this particular vehicle has been shrouded in so much mystery that, if we're being completely honest, we've spent quite a bit of time just trying to figure out what it is.

Recently, the curtain was finally pulled back and we got to see the design for the first time. After taking it in at every angle we have good news and bad news. The good news is that this is a seriously stylish ride. The bad news is we still can't find an appropriate category for it. Urban SUV, it is.

At first we were expecting to see a crossover that borrowed a few looks from the Honda Fit. However, the Vezel, as it is currently being called, actually takes more cues from two door offerings. While it does feature four portals, the rear set are sort of camouflaged with hidden handles. And overall, the arched roofline and slighter stance just seems to scream "coupe".

We're undoubtedly going to learn more about this vehicle as time presses on. As a matter of fact, it is scheduled to hit the road in Japan in just a few weeks. Beyond that, the model is going to make its way to Europe and, finally, across the Atlantic to your hometown.

Keep an eye on the Piedmont Honda blog and we'll fill you in on the latest about this exciting new crossover.
