The next-generation Honda CR-V recently made its debut at the Orange County Auto Show in California, just prior to the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show. Many in attendance at LAAS were pleased with the direction Honda's top selling, award winning vehicles appear to be taking. But the Japanese auto maker is treading lightly when they go forth and reshape a popular, well known, best selling ride like CR-V.
Current CR-V models at Piedmont Honda in Anderson, South Carolina are available with a slew of options. The CUV has an unmistakable look that has drawn in buyers for over a decade.
Next year's Honda CR-V will be powered by a 2.4-liter i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine. This powerplant is rated at 185 horsepower and 163 pound-feet of torque, connected to a 5-speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy estimates bring it in around 23 mpg city, and a whopping 31 mpg highway. An EcoAssist system onboard CR-V will…assist…in better driving and higher miles per gallon ratings. Visual reminders on the dash will inform you how to put less pressure on the brakes, for example.
Models will begin with a base LX, EX, and up to the EX-L coming in at prices ranging from $21,000-$30,000.
Honda says their "Compact on the outside and roomy inside" CR-V will hit dealership lots by December 15th.1
